"S" mode is supposed to be a "better" and "faster" way to use the os - but I would highly recommend getting out of S mode as soon as you get the laptop. Youll be limited in what apps you can download in S-mode. So you will be at the mercy of the windows store. Getting out of S mode does away with that limitation

You can turn off S Mode to use third-party applications, but with S Mode turned off, it will still use only the 32-bit version of Windows 11. With any software, you will want to make sure from the developer's website that this unit meets the system requirements for the setting you would like to use. Updates can change the requirements and that can affect what settings you can use or if you can run the software at all.
