Should be fine as long as you didn't crack anything inside. That's basically a 'handle' that goes under the battery to help you remove it when swapping out a dead battery.

Please try again later.The silver strip was either to keep the battery from discharging before the mouse was sold and put into use by keeping the battery away from any connectors in the battery compartment OR it may be the strip beneath the battery in the compartment to facilitate removing the battery easily for replacement when necessary. In either case, don't worry about-it will NOT affect using the mouse.
