• Just turn on the Bluetooth, for wireless, and use a cord for connection directly.

• Go to your I pad Printer settings. You will have better results. I have my cell, I pad and laptop connected to my wireless Printer.

• You can go into the Printer Settings in your computer and add the HP Envy. You will be able to print without connecting a cord. I print wirelessly from my laptop and my iPhone. (I also have the same HP printer) For your iPad you have to go into the Wifi settings & select the Wifi signal that the printer emits before you send something to print.

• You can download the hp eprint app from the app store and it walks you through it step by step to set it up so you can print from your ipad.

• My ipad recognized my 4501 immediately. You should just be able to go under your options and it should locate your printer.
