• It should be, look on the inside of the access panel on your printer. As long as the number is the same the XL version WILL WORK. Only difference between normal and the XL cartridge is they put more ink in the XL. TOTAL SHAME if you ask me, sell us a cartridge only half full, so you can charge us more to sell one that’s actually full :-(

• Yes, I started with a 8600 and was thrilled when I upgraded to an 8630 that uses the same cartridges. Haven't seen that happen in a long time.
