A:AnswerI don't know about direct wired but using my brand new HP DeskJet Plus 4155 printer wirelessly is causing numerous Malware messages; so many rapid fire pop up warnings that I had to have Apple support help fix it. They deleted all the HP files and told me not to use the printer and to contact HP. I was not able to resolve the issue with HP support because, after multiple attempts to call in, I only got through once and the tech disconnected our call. I am going to get a different brand printer. Sorry if this doesn't help with your exact question.
