• Because the RAM is "surface mounted" (meaning it's soldered direct to the motherboard) there's only one module installed, so it's single channel. As far as the odds of memory failure, in 25 years I've seen exactly one that failed because it was defective. Honestly, it's probably the last thing I'd worry about failing in a computer.
