Funny, I also started getting poor text quality after upgrading to the corrected AMD driver. I attributed my issue to having quit a Remote Session chat (with HP tech support) without properly logging off, because the problem went away when I started a new session and logged off the right way. Now I wonder if it was something else. Have you checked the box for Cleartype? Anyway on my unit the the text is back to normal, hope yours gets fixed too.
