However, engineering programs are best with the fastest computers. A better option would be a computer with 16 GB of RAM, a solid-state hard drive and a dedicated graphics card. This computer has 12 GB of RAM (minimum you should have for engineering is 8 GB). This would put this laptop right in the middle of the minimum requirements and recommended requirements. If you are just starting out, this is a great laptop for engineering.
