• Generally, yes. If you don't have any wireless network you can connect it to the computer and do the setup that way, but it's faster and easier to do it with a wireless network and the free HP Smart app

• Yes, you have to have Wi-Fi setup and use the HP Smart application to setup this printer. It was easy to do, but you will need to uninstall HP Smart if you had an HP printer before purchasing this printer.
