Hello. Thanks for your question. We recommend using the HP Smart app to scan. You can use the HP Smart app on a smart phone, tablet, or computer. After you select the scan option, you want to be sure the source is document feeder in the settings. Not scanner glass. Here is more info on the HP Smart app: https://bit.ly/3cEujqO
