• Yes this LaserJet can scan a 2 sided document in a single pass (duplex scanning).

• Be careful: some people responding here are not paying attention to the model #; No the 428DW cannot duplex SCAN via single pass - you must remove the document, flip it over and put it back in. Only the 428FDW can duplex scan in a single pass.

• No, it can't do that. It can copy double sided via the feeder but not scan.
