The paper feed on top of the printer is for the scanner/copier. To print, you use the bottom drawer for fresh paper, and it is straight/horizontal. For single sheets (manual feed) you use the slot directly above the paper drawer, and it takes them one at a time. I have not tried the scanner/copier, so I don't know if it jams.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Honestly the paper feed is slanted slightly, but there haven't been reports of paper jams being caused by it. I've looked at printers from HP and other manufacturers, and every one I've seen is slanted somewhat. Some have a top cover that's horizontal, but the feed itself is slanted.
