• You need to be connected to WiFi to print. However; when you setup the printer you’ll assign it an email, which you can send documents to that will print instantly. So just an extra step without WiFi.

• You can print to an OfficeJet 3830 without a wireless network using wifi direct (from the phone to the printer directly) - you can also have a better experience without wireless using the HP Smart app. Airprint requires that the printer and the iphone be on the same network.
