“Will this print in black and white if the color cartridges are empty?”

• Yes, if you remove the color inks the printer will continue to function with just the black installed.

• I just recently got the 3830 printer, but I recall reading reviews of people stating that it will print in black ink only, but the empty color cartridge needs to remain in the cradle. It will not print unless both ink cradles have a cartridge. I guess at some point I will get the opportunity to test this for myself.
