Good question. If the person wants to use the printer with their computer, then yes, they will need to install the driver. However, if they are using their smartphone, tablet, or other mobile device, they do not need to install drivers. They will be able to print to the printer using the printer's hotspot (WiFi Direct) or by being connected to your home WiFi. I hope this helps.
