• You can scan and fax immediately from the printer or set a time to fax later with this printer. I absolutely love mine.

• Yes the printer connects to a phone line to scan and fax on its own.

• The HP -Officejet 5740 Wireless-e All-in One Printer allows you to scan directly to a fax number as well as having direct faxing capabilities.

• This printer is a stand alone fax machine, and printer, and copier. I often use it to fax a few pages to someone to conduct business.
