Not recommended. Modern printers look for a chip on the print cartridges. Best to use the brand name HP print cartridges to save yourself a lot of aggravation.

It is not recommended to use off-brand cartridges.

The HP ink program is so good I haven’t even considered any non HP cartridge.

I have not tried aftermarket ink with this printer but I have with other HP printers and have never had any luck with them.
