HP does offer apps you can download for the iPad that will help in doing print jobs if your iPad doesn't recognize this printer naturally. Most times, the iPad finds the HP printers without grief. It won’t work if you plan on connecting the printer via USB. iPads need a wireless connection to use their native AirPrint feature, but HP’s ePrint capability works well via Ethernet with an iPad Pro (and some earlier iPads).
