I've had other brand printers with print-head issues, but this printer has had no problems of any nature.

Same exact issues... I too am very disappointed. I ended up buying from a different company. I contacted HP several times and even they couldn't fix it. I switched out the printer 3 times, got a new print head and still the same issues.
