“Will the scanning function also allow LEGAL Size auto duplex scanning? If so, will it take and duplex scan more than one legal size paper at a time? Many printers that offer duplex scanning will no duplex for legal size paper. This is never clarified.”

The 8710 can scan up to legal size through the document feeder, while the flat glass is only able to capture up to letter size paper. This document feeder is a two pass duplex scanner which can hold and duplex scan multiple pages automatically but will be a little slow as it has to flip each page to scan the second side.
