“Doesdesktop require a monitor with certain specs? I need to get one but have no idea if all are created equal. I will probably be using this computer for web surfing, MS office, watching movies. But if price is decent wil get one to maximize features”

It will do 4k. But if your looking to spend less. I would not go any lower than 1080p. You can get those pretty cheap.
