• It takes a NVMe m.2 SSD. I've seen them with capacities as high as 8 gigabytes.

• You could add an external solid state drive. If you get one of the newer ones that use an NVMe, and connect it to the Super Speed usb-c port, you could get speeds as high as 1000MB/s for both read and write.
