The manufacturer's warranty covers the internals and mechanicals for one year. When you register your laptop at HP''s web site you have an option of choosing other warranties for a price. The best thing with HP is that they will pay for shipping and handling to and fro and will even send you a box you place your laptop in.

Yes, this computer has a 1 year manufacturers warranty that covers defects in material worksmanship.
