Hello, this gaming laptop is installed with Windows 11 so you would need to have Solid Works 2022+ to be compatible. According the system requirements of SolidWorks your device will need to have 16GB RAM or more so this will not be enough in this device. Please ask an associate of Best Buy to assist you in locating the device that has a larger amount of RAM. This device does come with 512GB SSD and that might be sufficient for running CAD programs such as SolidWorks. Please contact the software manufacturer and confirm with them before purchasing. You do have 14 days with Best Buy to use the device and if you find it is not performing sufficiently for you the return policy is available within that 14 day period.
