Robust Performance Meets Modern Aesthetics
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently got my hands on the HP Victus 15.6" Gaming Laptop from Best Buy, and I must say, it's an intriguing blend of power and elegance. The Intel Core i5-12450H ensures a smooth gaming experience while the 8GB RAM is capable enough for multitasking. With a 512GB SSD, not only do games load faster, but file transfers are a breeze too. The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 graphics card does a good job, rendering graphics smoothly with decent frame rates in most modern games at medium settings. The design is sleek with a Mica Silver finish that adds a touch of modern aesthetics. It's not just about looks; the laptop has a sturdy build which suggests it can handle daily wear and tear. Now, onto the display - the 15.6" screen is sufficiently bright and vibrant, providing a good level of immersion when gaming or watching movies. The keyboard is comfortable with a decent travel distance for the keys, which is great for both gaming and typing. The trackpad is responsive and supports multi-finger gestures, enhancing the overall user experience. While the laptop performs well in most aspects, it's not without its caveats. The 8GB RAM might feel limiting for more intensive multitasking or higher-end gaming. Also, the battery life could have been better. During continuous gaming, I found myself reaching for the charger sooner than I'd like. In terms of connectivity, it comes with ample ports including USBs, HDMI, and an Ethernet port, which is a plus for gamers and professionals alike. The laptop also stays relatively cool under load, which is commendable. In summary, the HP Victus 15.6" Gaming Laptop is a solid choice for anyone looking to game on a budget without compromising too much on performance or aesthetics. While it might not satisfy hardcore gamers, it's perfect for casual gaming and professional use. Note: I've attached a photo showcasing the sleek design of the laptop.

Impressive beast with a battery problem
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Added another stick of 8gb ram right out the box and used it both for heavy gaming and school while traveling for a year. It served well as my away from home gaming rig and I was impressed by the performance it was able to push out given the hardware and price point. Battery life is poor when gaming or undergoing demanding tasks, however with brightness turned down and watching something like youtube I was able to get a few good hours out of it. I must admit it has spent majority of its life attached to the charger. Despite this, it has always been fast, responsive and to this day, 2 years later, I still use it as my main laptop for travel or when I want to work away from my desk. I am very pleased with this little power house and am still shocked that I was able to pick up such a capable machine for under $500. 8.5/10, would reccomend!

A very good laptop for its price (1 year later)
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Alright, I’ve had this laptop for almost a year so I’ll tell you how it is. It’s a pretty good gaming laptop considering its price it can run a lot of games very smoothly I overall do enjoy it, it has so cons such as the battery life being very poor and not being able to run at full capacity if charger is not connected but that can be fixed with a upgrade and Plugging the charger and playing your game. Besides that I really do love this laptop. It includes a one year warranty and has a useful light up keyboard. I suggest you get this.

High Quality PC
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great PC for the price I paid. Managed to get it under $500 for Black Friday. I did manage to swap in a larger set of memory sticks a day after purchase, so I cannot comment on the base set up. It plays games quite well, including Xbox game pass and steam. Battery life is about an hour while gaming on high brightness and max settings. I do use the battery saver and can get about 2-3 hours of work for everything outside of gaming. Since I managed to customize my own power settings, I have no noticed any lag while operating under battery saver. I do not recommend battery saver for gaming since the resolution can be an issue. Would buy this again.

Absolutely love it.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Awesome laptop. Upgraded the Ram to 32gb and it’s ridiculously fast. Wish there was a slot for another m.2 but for a budget friendly intro gaming laptop, you can’t beat it. I loved it so much I recommended my coworker get one and she loves it as well. Do yourself a favor though and buy a 16x2 set of ram to go in it. Changing it out is super easy.

Nice Laptop!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really like this laptop! It’s currently on sale for $549.99 plus tax which comes out to about $590. But I got this laptop for $540 (gift cards and gift certificate). I came from a 4K i7 Asus Zenbook which was around $1,600 and I have to say there really isn’t much of a drop off between this laptop and my previous Asus. It’s pretty fast for an i5 and the backlit keyboard is very nice as well. It has an Ethernet port for hard wiring which a lot of laptops don’t include these days. It also has an 1 HDMI port, 1 USB-C port, 1 SD card slot, 1 audio port and 2 USB-A ports (regular USB port). The speakers are nice when listening to music or movies. As for the display/screen, it is 1080P with 144HZ (refresh rate) which I have to say looks great and does make a difference when gaming, watching videos and movies. I really like this laptop and highly recommend it!

Great Overall Especially on Sale
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have used for a few days but so far, it's had top-notch performance. Multiple tabs open, playing Spotify, as well as having games downloading in the background does not slow down. Battery lasts me at most 2 hours but that's apparently to be expected with a gaming laptop. The fan is a bit noisy when playing games, but it doesn't bother me. The keyboard is quiet and feels nice to type on. I like that it has illuminated keys. It is somewhat of a fingerprint magnet but can clean it. All in all, for the early Black Friday Deal, it's totally worth 5 stars. I hooked it up to a monitor and now I can use it as a mobile desktop too. Happy with my purchase!

Q: QuestionWhat is the refresh rate on the screen and does it has the option for ram upgrades?
Asked by Berny.
- A:Answer HP Team confirmed it's 16GB per slot with a total off 32GB supported.. see screenshot.
Answered by Five5
Q: QuestionSince I keep getting mixed answers? Does this computer support 16gbs of ram "per slot" meaning that it can be upgraded to 32gbs in total? So 2 sticks of 16gb can work?
Asked by Steven.
- A:Answer This was very confusing to me as well as the is different information all over the place. When checking the Max Physical Memory via Command Prompt, I was surprised to show 67GB, indicative of being able to hold two 32GB sticks

Q: QuestionIs is a good laptop for a college student?
Asked by zorra.
- A:Answer You would want to base it off of the requirements of the software for the classes that are being taken. This laptop is designed around gaming and would be good for 3D rendering and some types of art design. If it is more about coding without the renders, you might want something with an i7 and not go with a GPU. Then you have things like AI design which might require higher specs based on what programs are being used and how they want the AI developed. If you have the information about the classes and what software is required, you can also take that to the Best Buy computer team and have them help you figure out what might be the best option for you.

Q: QuestionWhat is the Speed of the SSD speed? Specs say that two USB's are 3.0, what is the speed of the 3rd?
Asked by Kens.
- A:Answer Thank you for your questions, Ken! This laptop has 1 SuperSpeed USB Type-C port (supports DisplayPort 1.4 and HP Sleep and Charge), 1 SuperSpeed USB Type-A port (supports HP Sleep and Charge), and 1 SuperSpeed USB Type-A port (no additional supports). All three are SuperSpeed with a 5Gbps signaling rate. The SSD speed is not listed in the specs but it is a 512 GB 2280 PCIe-4x4 NVMe TLC M.2 SSD.
