QuestionSince I keep getting mixed answers? Does this computer support 16gbs of ram "per slot" meaning that it can be upgraded to 32gbs in total? So 2 sticks of 16gb can work?

- Answer This was very confusing to me as well as the is different information all over the place. When checking the Max Physical Memory via Command Prompt, I was surprised to show 67GB, indicative of being able to hold two 32GB sticks

- Answer I get around 130 frames and latency is at 50 consistently.game plays so smooth on these laptops.i get that its not high end but it plays any game i want flawlessly so far with great graphics

QuestionIs is a good laptop for a college student?

- Answer You would want to base it off of the requirements of the software for the classes that are being taken. This laptop is designed around gaming and would be good for 3D rendering and some types of art design. If it is more about coding without the renders, you might want something with an i7 and not go with a GPU. Then you have things like AI design which might require higher specs based on what programs are being used and how they want the AI developed. If you have the information about the classes and what software is required, you can also take that to the Best Buy computer team and have them help you figure out what might be the best option for you.

This laptop has 1 SuperSpeed USB Type-C port (supports DisplayPort 1.4 and HP Sleep and Charge), 1 SuperSpeed USB Type-A port (supports HP Sleep and Charge), and 1 SuperSpeed USB Type-A port (no additional supports). All three are SuperSpeed with a 5Gbps signaling rate. The SSD speed is not listed in the specs but it is a 512 GB 2280 PCIe-4x4 NVMe TLC M.2 SSD.

- Answer 1 stick of Dual channel memory is installed (8gb Samsung 3200 DDR4), with one open slot for expansion. Memory is expandable to 64gb.

According to HP, this Victus Gaming Laptop 15-fa0031dx has 1 SuperSpeed USB Type-C 5 Gbps signaling rate (DisplayPort 1.4, HP Sleep and Charge); 1 SuperSpeed USB Type-A 5 Gbps signaling rate (HP Sleep and Charge); 1 SuperSpeed USB Type-A 5Gbps signaling rate; 1 HDMI 2.1 port; 1 RJ-45 (Ethernet) port; power, and 1 headphone/microphone combo jack. There is also a SD card reader.

QuestionCan I upgrade RAM myself without voiding the warranty, by adding a second stick, or do I have to use Best Buy people for that? It says it comes with Windows 11, is that preinstalled and if so how do I upgrade HDD without needing another copy of Windows?

- Answer Not sure about the warranty but you can definitely upgrade a second stick, fairly easily too. Only issue with this laptop was prying off the bottom after removing the screws. Windows 11 is preinstalled. Not sure what you mean about upgrading HDD. If you mean upping 512 GB M.2 SSD to a larger one, you can attempt to clone the drive through YouTube videos and google.

- Answer Yes, it is. There are too many variables to give you a realistic frame rate, but given how much over the minimum requirements of Minecraft Java the computer is, the framerate should be quite high.
