“Is the battery on the new model better than the previous one that had a cylinder shape battery? After having it for less than 3 years I've gone through 2 batteries and now have a massage gun that is basically worthless.”

I thought the battery lasted quite a while before needing to be charged. I put the unit behind my pillow and lean back on it. It then massages my entire back. It has a strong pulse. I love it.

The newer Hypervolt 2 has a similar lithium ion battery that was in our original Hypervolt devices. This new battery is a bit smaller and more oval shaped than the original Hypervolt battery which makes it more ergonomical, easier to hold, and easier to use. Also, even with the smaller size, the battery life is the same 3-hours when on a full charge! As for the battery problems you may have faced before, with lithium ion batteries it is always best to use the device frequently to avoid the battery degrading. These batteries are similar to car batteries in the fact that if they are left off and idle for too long at a time, it could affect its lifespan. For best results, we always recommend to turn on the device and use it at least once every few weeks to avoid your battery degrading. Also, we do have an out of warranty upgrade option for anyone who has one of the original Hypervolts and is thinking of upgrading to the newer model.
