“So... I bought a new speaker system (with 5.1) because the specs said it was 5.1 to 7.1 compatible. When I try to get 5.1 sound, it won't work. I've purchased an upgraded sound card, but I don't feel like I should have to. Am I missing something?”

Hi DaFreakster, The audio software is preinstalled into the system, if not, please download the audio driver. Once the audio software pops up, you can remap the back ports to become surround sound. It should be noted that the only place to utilize a mic port would be from the front ports.
