Manufacturer website about page shows Compustar was started in the US by Firstech in 1995 and iDataStart was started in Canada by Automotive Data Solutions in 2005 -- looks like both companies partnered up in 2021 so I don't think you'll have a problem with either brand since they've been around for a while. Compustar kit is a few years old but its cheaper on sale -- it has 3000ft max range and comes with one 2way remote and one 1way remote. iDataStart kit looks like a recently upgraded version of their old HC3 system but costs more -- it has 6000ft max range and comes with two 2way remotes. Get the Compustar on sale if you're on a budget or don't need extra range otherwise pay more for iDataStart on sale for longer range and a second 2way remote. You won't get close to the max range with either system in the real world due to interference from other things so I would cut the range numbers in half to get a better idea of actual range for most people
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Thanks for the response we weren't sure what to do and ended up with the compustar on sale for $349 with install. Didn't know this was considered an upgraded compustar one but you mentioned 2 way remotes the 4905S said 2 way remote also does it not have that?
