• Nope. If the power goes out so does Alexa. And Alexa sets the time, weather and everything else.

• No. But the time, your alarm, your settings, etc. are stored within the app. So after a power outage, it will formally blink 12:00 for a bit, but then restore its data (time, alarms, etc.) from the app. So no being late to work.
