No. Rs232 is a serial communication connection. Sounds like you might want a vga cable.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Sure you could force it, and probably break the adapter cable AND your Acer monitor. As another person said, this adapter is a serial port, NOT a video port. It is used for sending data to and from other computers and devices (mostly older) like PDAs, GPS units, or dial-up modems among many other things. The RS-232 connector has two rows of contacts with a total of 9 pins. A similar looking cable for video has 15 pins in three rows, and that is referred to as a Video Graphics Adapter or VGA port. That's probably what you have on your monitor, but there are other video connector standards, including DVI-D, DVI-I, HDMI and DisplayPort. Your best bet is to take a picture of the connector on your computer and monitor, then take those along to the store (like Best Buy) so you can compare what they have wiith what you need. You can also look online; do a Google image search for "video connector standards" or similar, and compare what you have on your monitor and computer to the search results. Good luck, I hope you can find the cable that best suits your needs!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is not a video cable this is a standard RS232 serial cable. This only has 9 Pins a video cable has 14. It's not too small it doesn't have the proper number of Pins
