“Has anyone run these using a usb to barrel jack (power not sound) type of connector and if so what size is the barrel jack? Would like to use them in my wife's new Traverse, if possible.”

Without doctoring things, the USB might not have enuf umph to handle the power demand. USB typically provides 5 volts and 2 amps. From the AC adapter it looks like these things are running on 9 volts and 1 amp. It could be done, but I've not seen anything that will readily do it. Maybe there's an adapter out there that converts the USB's 5 volt output to 9 but I've never nosed around on that one. Good luck!
