“I see a few people have asked of INSIGNIA about the decibel/noise level ~ and except for owners of this shredder providing "loud" or "not so loud" feedback, there has been no response. CAN THE MANUFACTURER PLEASE PROVIDE THIS INFO?”

I didn't find it to be any louder than I expected; but that doesn't help YOU as we are all different in how we handle noise; I am actually more sensitive to noise than most people I know; I hate blowers used by landscape maintenance people, for instance. You will just have to decide for yourself about it I think. Good luck. It works great though, I think.

I used a shredder from another company for many years before I purchased this one. This is able to cut in far smaller pieces, which normally results in more noise. This shredder has been far quieter than the three previous shredders I've had and used often. Further, I do not have to increase the volume of the music or television in order to hear them over this shredder. If you require exact db readings, I'm afraid i no longer have a working meter.
