• I don't have a db meter, so I can't give you a number, but it is average for the shredders I have owned. Not very loud, noisier than a refrigerator, quiter than a vacuum cleaner. Will wake up a baby, if you have one in the house; but if you have a home office not much louder than a printer

• The shredder is quite, for the most part, as long as you don't load anymore than 6 pieces of paper into it verses the 10 pages the it says it can do!. The shredder doesn't shred credit cards or ID's very well either!! It only cut them up into thirds!! I expected the shredder to dice up credit cards and ID's as the same as paper but it didn't!!...I found myself diving into the shredder basket only to finish cutting up the items to my satisfaction. It was a bit disappointing to know what was spent on this shredder only to do the same as I always did with just a regular pair of scissors!!!... Money NOT Well spent!!....Ugh!!!!

• It really isn't that loud. A blender makes 3 times more noise than the shredder.

• If you are watching TV while shredding, you do have to turn the volume up slightly to hear.
