• No unfortunately it wont you have to hit the switch to turn it off

• If your Shredder will not shut down, either there is a piece of paper or plastic stuck in the activation button which is in the center of the cutting rollers which will prevent the machine from shutting off, or your Shredder is defective, and if under warranty, just bring it back where you purchase it. Note: never shred plastic into any paper Shredder, as doing so, will make your Shredder brake down a lot sooner!
