• If your TV is 4k you are going to want to get a new HDMI cable. There is something called HDCP that is built into every 4k TV and 4k output device. This signal is carried by the HDMI cord and is necessary for the TV to receive the 4K content. And the newer the cable the more likely it is to have the newer standard.

• It depends on what type of TV you have. If you have a 4K TV with HDR capabilities, you’ll need a higher bandwidth HDMI cable like this one. If you’re new TV is simply a HD TV, then no.
