Not all tv's are hd so you need to purchase the HDMI voids for your tv. I've also had direct tv and then tend not to be to helpful although the picture quality is better then cable

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.If you need HDMI cable to receive the HD. That could be your problem trying to watch a HD program without the cable will change the focus of picture. The HDMI Invicta cables work good and are less money.

I think if your picture looks soft, the box is not giving you good resolution. There's usually a setting that asks you what resolution to output, 720, or 1080i, that sort of thing. If you can't find and verify the setting, call your cable company, they will help, they want to keep you as a customer.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.All flat screen's should be HD, to receive HD sound on your tv, you would have to order an HD-dvr box from Directv. I have Direct, but not the dvr. I use RCA jack's going from the back of box to tv. Hope this helped.
