“Do you have to restart or reset the unit again if there is loss of power, such as due to a storm? The manual mentions something about waiting three minutes but if it’s weather related will it auto reset to prior settings or do I have to reset each time?”

You don't need to do it, the unit can automatically restart and have memory function after power on. David M. - Insignia Support
