A:AnswerIt IS a freezer. That’s the beauty of this unit. It can be a refrigerator or freezer; but not both at once. You get to choose. Right now I’m using mine as a fridge because I needed the room for the holidays. During hunting season I use it as a freezer.
A:AnswerThis is really an important question that deserves an accurate answer:
On the outside door is a digital display where you enter the desired temperature. Desired temperature is not the same as the temperature of the inside unit. This is because the unit cycles on/off, which is normal, but it's important understand the desired temperature is not necessarily the temperature inside the unit.
When the unit is in the refrigerator mode (not freezer mode), the absolute minimum you are permitted to set the refrigerator is 35 F degrees. The digital display (where you enter the temperature) does not permit you to enter 33F as you would hope, it only permits you to scroll down to 35F and no further. This is important to know, because most people prefer their refrigerators to run on the cooler side, rather than the warmer side.
I've got my fridge set at 35F (the coolest setting allowed on the digital display) and this translates into actual temperatures inside the refrigerator between 40F and 45F inside the refrigerator, using three different refrigerator temperature readers from three different reputable companies. I wish the unit could be set to 33F, because that would just about get the unit into the safety zone of 38 to 42F. I think 45F is a bit too high for a refrigerator that costs $600. Also note, the refrigerator door was not opened for 48 hours and it still reads out temperatures between 40 and 45. (Today, it actually read 46F). I had to toss out our Easter ham, because it just doesn't keep meat in food safe zone.
Other than that, the unit is amazing. It's excellent as a freezer and functions much better as a freezer, with temperatures around -11F which is amazingly good. If you are purchasing this as a freezer, I would highly recommend it is one of the best freezers out there. If you are purchasing this for fruit/vegetables or sodas, this is also an excellent choice. I just would not recommend it for meat nor cottage cheese, because those items need to be kept in a food safe temperature zone, which these refrigerators are not able to achieve.
It's too bad the refrigerator mode doesn't work as needed. I own two units.
A:AnswerHi.
I truly appreciate the time you took to share this inquiry with us. While the unit could work in a garage, tit is designed and manufactured to be used indoors. Thus, we cannot ensure its correct functionality while on such location.

A:AnswerDuring the initial setup, it took about 4 to 6 hours to get it cold enough to start putting our freezer goods in there. I would say 10 to 12 hours to reach actual temp used as a freezer. The continuous running to get it to temp did cause the unit to feel warm to the touch on the exterior. Keep in mind, our unit is placed in an enclosed garage. It is not inside where the ac has the temp cooler.
A:AnswerDont know but i ( 65 year old man) was able to get the box off., maneuver it by dragging and pushing it on its bottom piece of foam into place and then tip it to get the foam out. 2 people could do this easily but ok with one. To move it far your would need 2 men or a hand truck
A:AnswerYes, the door can be remove and than added again. You have to make sure that the door has to be close all the way for it to work the correct way once is installed.
A:AnswerThe unit came with the door hinges on the right, handle on the left as pictured. It does LOOK like it could be mounted the other way if it came unassembled as some appliance stores have but it comes in the box already assembled this way.
