The screwdriver is to unscrew/screw screws that keep the enclosure closed. Two screws, that's all. The actual HDD is plug into the brace and then the brace is screwed into the enclosure.

You will need to bolt the hard drive into the slide then slide the hard drive & slide into the enclosure and then bolt the top back on. Once you have properly install the internal hard drive into the enclosure it then becomes plug & play right through a USB hook up.

Also it is recommended that you attach screws into the enclose to secure the hard drive. All of this is outlined in the instructions that come with the enclosure.
