• TV and box each need HDMI plug in. Cord you need is two male sides of HDMI. Not this one.

• I doubt that it will work. This is just an HDMI Extention, so you will still need to have HDMI capabilities on your tv to be able to use it.

• I am not sure. If your TV doesn't have HD, I don't think a cable will add that feature. If your TV has an HDMI input and your cable box has HDMI output, you can use an HDMI cable to connect them. This is NOT that cable, though. You likely want one with two male ends. This is an extension (has one male and one female) and is used to make standard patch cable longer.
