Paul - the link you posted appears to contradict your statement. You claim that the power cord for this dryer must be 4 prong with a 240v/30amp rating yet the link YOU provided indicates that the dryer can be installed with a three pong plug rated at 120v/10amps. That said, why would you post a link that doesn’t back up your own statements? Thanks for confusing everyone with misinformation.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have been searching for this answer for the last 5 days and no one has been able to give me a straight answer until today!! Thank You Mike Pytel Best Buy in Bel Air, MD!!. The electrical codes in MD (and I'm sure everywhere else) have changed twice since 120V dryers with regular 120 outlets.were used. Once to 3 wire 220/240v which are still used BUT the new codes require 4 wire 220/240v. That means you need to get an electrician to change your socket outlet to 220/240V and the plug must be a new 4 prong. If you click this link for the owners manual for this model dryer and go to page 19 you will see pictures of the plugs. https://manualzz.com/doc/55270399/insignia-ns-fdre44w1-4.4-cu.-ft.-16-cycle-stackable-elect...#p19 (copy and paste in new window). And apparently after Now talking with an electrician You cannot plug a 120v dryer into a 120v outlet (Illegal). all dryers must now plug into a 220/240v plug!!! Hope this helps
