I use it with my MacBook Pro. I guess you can use it on the Mac Mini as well.

So long as you have, 1 usb port [2.0 or better (3.0)] this unit should be 100% compatible.

You can increase the number of USB ports available with a mac mini, yes. This hub should work with all usb capable devices, the only exceptions would be dumb ports like on some TVs.

yes, as long as your mac mini has a usb port. USB data transfer is universal among all computers

I had trouble with this hub losing connection with my keyboard and an error message saying my iPod needed a powered hub even though this is a powered hub. Apple's help website troubleshooter says to not use USB 3
