Some USB devices require more power than can be provided by an un-powered hub (chargers, for instance). So, plugging the hub into an electrical outlet ensures that you will have whatever power is necessary regardless of your usb device.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.adds additional power with the plug.. otherwise has to suffice on pc power from existing usb port which in some cases is insufficient… some accessories need the extra power to operate such as, in my case, an external microphone interface and camera....
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you do not plug it into an outlet then any power being drawn by the attached USB devices will come from the USB port of your computer. Not a big deal if you are attaching thumb drives, Bluetooth adapters, wireless keyboard/mice dongles etc, if you are running external hard drives or other power hungry devices then a single USB connection from a laptop might not be enough to power the devices and you will need to plug the hub into an outlet.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.because it uses one of the USB 3.1 ports on your computer, and that port also provides the power. It gives you four new ports while plugging into an existing one on your computer, for an net gain of three ports.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No power cord...it receives its power via the USB plug coming from 4 port into USB on your computer.
