You may not have enough in the freezer. Until I stocked mine, it developed frost quickly. You should only open the door as little as possible and know where items are for quick removal. I keep a running list of what is in the freezer, when it was put in, and where it is located, and remove what I need for a couple of days, storing it in the refrigerator. The way an upright freezer is constructed, more moisture is allowed in when the door is opened. It also allows a quick temperature drop, which increases frost. A chest freezer is more efficient because cold air naturally moves downward.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Frost is moisture, So either the room is extremely warm and causing condensation, or the door was cracked open. I’ve had my unit for a couple of months, in the basement and only opens the door a few times and there is no frost at all in the unit.
