“I installed the kegerator and everything, but when I turn on the CO2 and open the valve, the PSI jumps to 16-18. I turn the adjuster nut, but I can't get the PSI to move at all. Obviously, with such a high pressure, the beer is nothing but foam. Help!”

Yes, I would pull the release valve and release all the pressure. After letting go of the release valve though it would jump back up in PSI.
