Yes, you can download kids apps on it, my 5 year old loves watching kids tube on it, just be very careful not to drop it very fragile, I recommend getting a protector of some sort or warranty

Yes, this tablet is perfect for a seven year old. It's actually perfect for any age. I have one and it is shared between my three-year-old and four-year-old. They love to play games watch movies stream Netflix and various other things and this tablet does it all. It outperforms the previous Samsung tablet we had and it was half the price. We couldn't be happier with it and I think your child will enjoy it too. It even does everything that I like to do, in the evening when the daughters are asleep I play with it as well. Very nice product especially for the price.
