Yes I used it with square at an event for a boxer rescue. You will need a hot spot for it to connect to.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I bought this tablet for use with Square hardware. The Square app downloaded satisfactorily and worked well with the "free" swipe reader. I was able to process a couple sample transactions with this combination. However I could not get the Square Contactless Reader to link to the Insignia tablet. I contacted Square support and was told they had not tried the Insgnia 8" with their hardware and had no immediate plans to do. They suggested I pick another tablet from their recommended list. I bought an LG Gpad 7.0 online that works fine with both Square devices. I am keeping the Insignia tablet for persnal use, though it is a bit slow when compared to my Moto X on Wi-Fi.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.If you connect it to a mobile wifi yes, those square readers connect through the headphone jack, but you need some kind d of network connection (wifi/3g/4g) this tablet only connects with wifi
