As mentioned above, Mine does the same thing with my XS max. I had one I bought a year ago, it would sometime do the same thing with my 7plus, but it would stop after while. I got my new phone last month and it hasn't worked with it ever. I took my old one in and exchanged it thinking it could be bad, same thing happen. I then thought it might be my truck, nope, tried in my other truck, same thing and its a newer truck. I like this charger and has worked well for me and charged fast and well. A shame your product does not work anymore Insignia. Guess I will return it for a refund.

So I wanted to try this out rite away, so leaving the store I connected it to my car and when I connected it to my phone it kept connecting n disconnecting. So I took it back in n exchanged it for another thinking it was probably defective. But I had the same problem. So NO it doesn’t work with iPhone XS MAX OR iPhone XR. That’s phone my wife has which I tried on as well.

Worked fine with my iphone 6s plus, but when I upgraded to the Xs Max it would connect & disconnect repeatedly and immediately. But did noticed that if the iphone had a charge greater than 75-80% it did work (would stay connected and charge). Hope apple can fix this issue.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I am having the same issue. I troubleshooted by - changing the cigarette fuse my car and by replacing the insignia car charger with a brand new one. The charger with the Iphone 6 does work, but apparently not the 10Xs max. Apple support suggested that I try a different brand. I will do that today.

The cable wire breaks somewhere in the coil and then it only works when it is in the perfect spot (hence the light coming off and on). Could be something else, but this is how it has been with my chargers. Hope this helps.
