We used wall anchores since we didn’t have studs in our RV worked great

They make some toggle anchors for Sheetrock. Pay attention to the weight ratings. Any hardware store should be able to help you out. Personally, I would want to hit a stud with at least one side of mount. You can always attach two boards that span the studs, mount them to wall, then attach tv mount to boards.

The instructions only indicate mounting directly to the studs. There are no instructions for mounting to the drywall directly. As such, I wouldn’t recommend it.
